Mumbai, the metropolis & country’s
economic capital is confronted with ever growing traffic
congestion. This problem is man-made & has severely
impacted every conceivable mode of transport. At such times,
commuting for the common man is virtually a nightmare.
The inevitable fallout has also impacted the entire socio-economic
ethos of the metro which has the distinction of a city that
never sleeps. Lack of available land has resulted in haphazard
growth which is compounded by the enormous unchecked migration
of people coming from other cities and rural areas. Construction
of flyovers, freeways, sea links are of little help to ease
traffic congestion which adversely affects the infrastructure.
Every new idea is being considered. Even sky trains, sky
walks are on the anvil. To add to all the chaos is the paucity
